Below is general information on IPods. We try to include the tear down instructions as well as links to any free software we've installed on it.

Tools: - A thin piece of soft plastic (we used a metal butter knife, you probably should not do this)
Removing the back cover
Set the IPod face up facing you. Slip your soft piece of plastic between the metal back and the plastic front of the ipod. The position of the plastic should be slipped in about halfway down the LEFT side as seen in the photo below. Gently push your plastic away from the IPod this should pry it open. Now carefully open the IPod like you would a book, right to left.
