FGA March 3, 2007 Board Meeting

Agenda:

  • Election the Treasurer
  • Discuss language from By-Laws:

Depositories All funds of Free Geek shall be deposited in the name of Free Geek in such bank, banks or other financial institutions as the Board may from time to time designate and shall be drawn on checks, drafts or other orders signed on behalf of Free Geek by the Treasurer and/or such other person or persons as the Board may from time to time designate. 

 Are we OK with the Treasurer being the only signer for now?  With
 only one signer, our we hurting our other locations?  Or, would we
 approve the Manager to write checks on behalf of the organization?
 Also, if Ryan is our Treasurer, will we have a similar location issue
 until we have a Manager here?  How does PayPal access to the account
 play into all this?  Will the Treasurer and other signers be the only
 people with access?
  • First official Free Geek Arkansas computer to be given soon! 
 Daniel can speak to whether or not he needs any equipment to finish.

 Last Tuesday in march and then back on schedule or back on
 schedule now.

Old Business:

  • Last meeting, Ryan was nominated as treasurer. He is unable to serve as a full-time treasurer at present, but is willing to serve as the interim treasurer until one can be found. His nomination was seconded and voted in by a majority of the board.

New Business

  • Brad made a motion to have FGA open FGA bank, Ebay and PayPal accounts. Steve seconded the motion, and the motion passed with a majority by a majority of the group.
  • The first official Free Geek computer is being given away by Daniel. He rebuilt one of his old computers with a donated LCD from Casey.
  • Ryan is starting an online list of equipment that is available now for computer builds.
  • Committee Updates - No committee updates at present.
  • Building Update

Casey spoke again with the guys who are thinking of building out our potential building space in Fayetteville. Nothing has changed yet with the building situation but we should have more news in the next couple of months.

March Goals

  • Establish bank, Ebay and PayPal accounts.
