Free Geek Arkansas Board Meeting Minutes 11-22-06

Meeting theme: Getting Free Geek Arkansas (FGA) back on track after a 2-month planning lull.

After entering a short period of dormancy, the FreeGeek board reconvened on November 22, 2006 to discuss strategic and operational planning for 2007. The board outlined the following goals that the organization needs to achieve in order to start helping the residents of Northwest Arkansas by mid-year 2007.

During a preliminary brainstorming session, the board identified two primary needs for FGA: generating income and obtaining warehousing/storefront space. Regarding income, the board agreed that FGA should start its thrift store (even if its only online to start) as soon as possible and should also investigate non-traditional fund-raising options like the TerraCycle Bottle Brigade. The board also agreed that identifying potential warehousing locations should become one of its primary goals.
